At Imola, 20 years ago, Ayrton Senna raced for the last time. And at the same place, this week, starting on Wednesday (04/30), the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari will host a series of homages during the “Ayrton Senna Tribute 1994/2014”, which is part of the celebrations planned by the Ayrton Senna Institute to honor the driver’s 20-year legacy. Over four days, the circuit will open its gates and welcome those who wish to pay homage to the unforgettable Brazilian driver.

Paddock, pits and circuit will be open to all who want to admire memorabilia, photos, hear the stories of contemporaries, discover unpublished film footage or take part in discussions with Ayrton’s friends and colleagues, journalists, artists and past and present-day F-1 personalities, all linked together by Ayrton’s life and times.

Everyone at Imola will have a chance to experience the track, taking a few laps by car, motorcycle, bicycle or on foot. Roland Ratzeberger, who also passed away on that track, during the same Grand Prix (during the qualifying sessions, on the eve of the race), will also be honored.

During the event, Imola will be motor racing’s mecca, featuring some Formula One teams, car manufacturers, enthusiasts, journalists, collectors, artists and writers, who will take part on the tribute by sharing their memories.

Part of the revenue will go to the Ayrton Senna Institute’s educational projects, which also turns 20 in 2014, developing the next generations’ potential, helping students succeed at school and become citizens capable of fulfilling the professional, economic, cultural and political demands of the 21st century.
