May 1, 2022 was full of special tributes to Ayrton Senna, highlighting the 28-year legacy of the three-time world champion, in Brazil and abroad. In addition to the thousands of posts on social networks, whether from fans, celebrities and F1, the day was marked by actions promoted by Senna Brands, such as the tribute at the Cristo Redentor Sanctuary, where the Brazilian monument was illuminated with the colours of the driver’s helmet.

“It is always amazing to see tributes to Ayrton around the world and this year’s were all very special, because they really touched millions of fans. Seeing the Christ the Redeemer monument, our great symbol of faith and hope in Brazil, with the colours of Ayrton’s helmet was something unforgettable for everyone, especially our family,” says Bianca Senna, CEO of Senna Brands.

“Sport is an instrument for the integral development of people, a tool for economic growth and promotion of social well-being, and should always be at the service of humanity, making a difference with examples of honesty, inclusion and acceptance. It is values like these that Brazilians can always see in Ayrton Senna,” said Pedro Trengrouse, coordinator of the Sport and Faith Nucleus of the Cristo Redentor Sanctuary.

Another tribute of note occurred on Sunday at the Corinthians Arena, during a match valid for the Brazilian Football Championship. A video about the three-time world champion was shown moments before the start of the match between Corinthians, Senna’s favourite team, and Fortaleza. Also, a large banner in tribute to the driver was placed in the stadium, which also had the presence of the character Senninha during the game.

On social networks, several personalities and Formula 1 teams, such as McLaren and Williams, in which Senna raced for back in the days, remembered the driver’s legacy, as well as teams in which the Brazilian did not race, such as the traditional Scuderia Ferrari. Among several drivers, the message from Charles Leclerc, F1 world leader, who highlighted Senna as his great idol, caught the eye.

Since Sunday, an action was also launched on Instagram of the three-time world champion. During the month of May, videos in the format of Reels will be posted to showcase items that belonged to Ayrton Senna. In all, 28 personal objects will be shown, one for each year of celebration of the driver’s legacy. Also on Instagram, users can use an exclusive filter where they can choose an emblematic phrase of the champion to post a tribute.
